ACTION TIMELINE

November 15, 2001 – The Center, Northwoods Wilderness Recovery, and the Superior Wilderness Action Network filed suit over the illegal neglect of hundreds of miles of wild and scenic rivers in Michgan's Ottawa National Forest.

June 18, 2005 – In response to a long-fought battle waged by the Center and allies, Arizona Public Service Company officially decommissioned two hydroelectric plants and returned the flows of Arizona's Fossil Creek to the streambed.

July 7, 2003 – A Court of Appeals judge ruled in favor of the Center and the Central Arizona Paddlers Club in our lawsuit against the U.S. Forest Service for failing to protect 57 Arizona waterways eligible for wild and scenic status.

December 10, 2001 – The Center and the Environmental Protection Information Center sued U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Anne Venemen and the Six Rivers National Forest for allowing cattle grazing to severely damage the fisheries and water quality of wild and scenic North Fork River.

March 25, 2009 – The House of Representatives voted to approve the Omnibus Public Lands Management Act of 2009, which granted a wild and scenic designation to Fossil Creek.
