Reppin’ the Earth
Ten-year-old “eco rapper” Anthony Hopkins, Jr. — better known by friends and fans as Lil Peppi — has been writing songs with his father since the age of three and rapping for years. Lil Peppi’s spreading a positive message about youth taking action for the environment. With songs like “Melting Ice,” whose video shows footage of melting glaciers and threatened polar bears, Lil Peppi recognizes the serious danger the natural world faces but doesn’t think it’s too late to save it.
“Ever since an early age, I’ve had a connection with taking care of the planet,”’ Peppi declares. “My hope is that others will realize that our planet is what sustains our lives. Therefore, we should try and do our part to sustain her life.”
As Peppi sings in “Mother Nature’s Crying”: “If you’re not making a difference, then back on up. We got one last chance, so I’m cleaning it up.”
